Yamaha has a policy of continual improvement for its guitars, and the latest FG range is the best ever. Even on this starter model, the specification includes a bound fingerboard and high-quality die-cast tuners, so value for money is superb.

FG433S

Top: Solid spruce

Back & sides: Nato

Neck: Nato

Fingerboard: Rosewood

Bridge: Rosewood

Body depth: 100-118mm (3.93”-4.64”)

Scale length: 650mm (25.59”)

Tuning machines: Diecast gold

Finish: Natural

The FG433S represents the pinnacle of the new FG acoustics - and deservedly so. Adornments on this finely made yet keenly priced instrument include a maple centre line down the bookmatched nato back, a multi-ply bound headstock with gold-plated diecast tuners, an abalone-inlaid soundhole rosette, and mother-of-pearl inlays for both the position markers and the peghead logo.

The sound is a treat, too. Thanks to its solid spruce top, thinner back-and-side laminates and a light-coat finish, the guitar’s tone is vibrant and long-ringing, with a clear sweetness and sparkle that has long epitomised the FG sound. A shallower-profile neck for enhanced playing comfort completes an impressive specification.

FG502 All Solid Yamaha Acoustic

Top: Solid spruce (solid mahogany on FG502M)

Back & sides: Solid mahogany

Neck: Nato

Fingerboard: Rosewood

Bridge: Rosewood

Body depth: 100-118mm (3.93”-4.64”)

Scale length: 650mm (25.59”)

Tuning machines: Chrome Klusons

Finish: Matt natural

Acoustics using solid woods throughout are historically associated with expensive guitars, but the spruce/mahogany FG 502 and the all-mahogany FG502M offer that advantage at an eminently reasonable price.

The spruce-topped model is the brighter sounding of the two, while the 502M has a dryer, warmer delivery especially well suited to blues and fingerpicking styles. And because the back and sides, as well as the top, are solid timber, their sound is set to mature beautifully, helped by the lightly-applied matt finish that lets the guitars vibrate freely. Vintage-style Kluson machineheads perfectly compliment the instruments’ traditional looks.

Regent Guitars prides iteself on its desire to highlight quality products and not to merely rely on the marketing budgets of high profile brands to power our sales & recommendations. If we recommend it, you have total peace of mind that the product has genuine attributes that make it a market leader.

Guitars we recommend don't just look and sound good - they have also passed our stingent quality control testing

Regulars to Regent Guitars will know that guitars can look great but what is most important is that they adhere to strict laws of geometry! If a guitars geometry is out - you can be asured it will not play correctly, impairing the tonality and playability of the instrument. Peter Allen - head technician and former quality control manager of Patrick Eggle guitars checks all our guitars and we will not recommend an instrument until Peter has given it the all clear.

Ask the forumites!

Remember - If you are still unsure, please feel free to discuss our recommendations with the hundreds of "forumites" who discuss guitar issues every day, here at the Regent Guitars forum. In other words, don't just take our word for it - the last thing we want you to do is purchase an instrument that doesn't inspire you to play!

Hopefully, these pages will give you 100% peace of mind that whichever guitar you choose, it will be amongst the top guitars available in the maket place today.
