VG-88 Virtual Guitar Processor The World's Most Powerful Guitar Modeling/Processing SystemSince its introduction several years ago, Roland V-Guitar technology has slowly become the "best-kept secret" of many of today's top performers and studio musicians. Today, the list of V-Guitar System users reads like a "who's who" of modern guitar... and with good reason. Thanks to Roland Composite Object Sound Modeling (COSM) technology, the original VG-8 and new VG-88 guitar processing / modeling systems can combine multiple "sound objects" - different guitar bodies, pickups, vintage and modern amplifiers, speaker cabinets, microphone placements, effects algorithms and more. But the VG-88 doesn't stop at modeling other guitars and amps. Its ability to model guitar sounds is paired with a host of incredible effects and polyphonic pitch shifting that can instantly call-up a variety of different tunings or string - assignable processing with the stomp of a footpedal. With HRM (Harmonic Restructure Modeling), the V-Guitar System can also produce some very unique synth-type sounds which are all its own - with none of the tracking delay often associated with guitar synthesis. Better still, the VG-88 lets users blend the output of their GK pickup and normal guitar pickups to produce interesting "combination" sounds like simultaneous overdriven guitar and brass or wind sounds and much more. The order of each effect - and even the point in the signal chain where GK pickup sound is inserted and blended with the "normal" pickup sound - can be totally user defined. Upgraded COSM Guitar & Amp Selections and New Effects Sonically, the VG-88 picks up where the original VG-8 left off, giving users an incredibly realistic new nylon string guitar, new brass sounds in HRM (Harmonic Restructure Modeling) mode, and new polyphonic effects like a string-assignable octaver and a polyphonic Slow Gear. There's also tons of new guitar insert effects derived from BOSS' cutting-edge GT-Series of guitar effects processors. Rounding out this impressive new engine, the VG-88's tube amp and overdrive modeling has been enhanced, giving guitarists even more variation and color between warm, overdriven amp tones. And new to the VG-88 is its direct 1/4" guitar input, which lets users plug directly into its COSM amp models and effects sections using normal electric guitar pickups. A Truly Friendly Interface Even though the technology inside is fierce, the VG-88's refined interface is incredibly friendly. Various guitar body types, pickup locations, amplifier types, speaker cabinets, effects and more are represented with helpful icons and graphics. Increasing the size of a simulated acoustic guitar body, for example, can be done simply by turning the Value dial while watching the guitar body graphic expand in realtime. A new EZ Edit mode simplifies the sonic sculpting process even further, scaling down the number of user parameters while intelligently working behind the scenes to give users the best tone. And with its onboard assignable expression and control pedals and new Output Select switch (allowing for connection to conventional guitar amps or power amps), the VG-88 has made it that much easier to take the guitar into the 21st century To summarise:- Self-contained guitar processing / modeling system which recreates a wide variety of guitar, pickup, amp, speaker cabinet and microphone sounds using a standard electric guitar equipped with a GK-2A or compatible pickup. Contains hollow-body and acoustic guitar models - including new nylon-string - for instant switching between electric and acoustic guitar sounds. Extremely natural tube amp models and overdriven sounds. HRM (Harmonic Restructure Modeling) creates new synth-type sounds (including new brass sounds) while preserving a guitar's natural expression. Polyphonic Intelligent Pitch Shifter instantly recreates the sound of user-defined and open tunings, 12-string guitars, bass guitar, string-assignable octave, slow gear, etc. Onboard reverb, chorus, hexa-pan, delay, flanger and parametric EQ - all available simultaneously. Onboard expression pedal for realtime parameter control. Output Select switch allows for great-sounding connection to conventional guitar amps or power amps. 200 Preset and 100 User Patches, including newly-developed factory Patches. Direct 1/4" guitar input provides access to COSM amp models and effects using normal electric guitar pickups.
