Extended Play...

Imagine putting on a set of new strings and having them sound fresh and bright 3 to 4 times longer than traditional strings. Well, it?s now a reality with D?Addario EXP Coated strings. Available in a wide variety of alloys and gauges, EXPs not only offer extended life, but deliver the exceptional tone you?ve come to expect from D?Addario. Whether you?re the casual player who doesn?t change strings often, an avid collector who owns several guitars, or a working player who changes strings for every gig, EXP strings are perfect for you.

Extended Play...

What makes EXP strings different?

D?Addario reinvented the way extended play strings are made. We apply an ultra-fine EXP corrosion-resistant coating to the wrap wire BEFORE it?s wound onto the core. The EXP Coating protects your strings from premature corrosion and wear that can sap the life out of your sound. Since the EXP Coating is so fine, it?s virtually undetectable and allows strings to maintain their natural, round wound feel. Finally - a string that delivers it all - great tone, natural feel, and longer life!

What makes EXP strings different?

EXP10 80/20 Bronze Extra Light (10-47)

EXP Coated 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings are D’Addario’s brightest sounding coated strings and provide longer life and increased durability. Here is how it works: An ultra-fine layer of EXP Coating is bonded to the 80/20 bronze wrap wire, which is then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against the corrosion and wear that can quickly sap the life out of your strings and your sound. And since the EXP Coating is cross-linked to the wrap wire prior to winding, the strings retain their natural round wound feel, and keep their "new string tone" three to four times longer than traditional guitar strings.

EXP15 Phosphor Bronze Extra Light (10-47)

EXP Coated Phosphor Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings provide longer life and increases durability coupled with the brightness, clarity and sensitivity you've come to expect from D'Addario Strings. Here is how it works: An ultra-fine layer of EXP Coating is bonded to the phosphor bronze wrap wire which is then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire. The result is a built-in barrier against the corrosion and wear that can quickly sap the life out of your strings and your sound. And since the EXP Coating is cross-linked to the wrap wire prior to winding, the strings sound fresh and bright; the "new string tone" lasts three to four times longer than traditional guitar strings.

Important facts about how we produce our product Guides

Specialists in each department vet new products

By clicking on acoustic, electric or bass you can learn a little more about the individals who select the products we recommend as well as information on the products themselves. As standard monthly procedure, these specialists meet up with the manufacturers and learn more about latest releases and whether these products offer our customers anything "new". Not only does this guarantee the products you see are worthy of our recommendation but also reflective of the very latest developments.

Recommendations are based on quality & value - not marketing hype!

Regent Guitars prides iteself on its desire to highlight quality products and not to merely rely on the marketing budgets of high profile brands to power our sales & recommendations. If we recommend it, you have total peace of mind that the product has genuine attributes that make it a market leader.

Guitars we recommend don't just look and sound good - they have also passed our stingent quality control testing

Regulars to Regent Guitars will know that guitars can look great but what is most important is that they adhere to strict laws of geometry! If a guitars geometry is out - you can be asured it will not play correctly, impairing the tonality and playability of the instrument. Peter Allen - head technician and former quality control manager of Patrick Eggle guitars checks all our guitars and we will not recommend an instrument until Peter has given it the all clear.

Ask the forumites!

Remember - If you are still unsure, please feel free to discuss our recommendations with the hundreds of "forumites" who discuss guitar issues every day, here at the Regent Guitars forum. In other words, don't just take our word for it - the last thing we want you to do is purchase an instrument that doesn't inspire you to play!

Hopefully, these pages will give you 100% peace of mind that whichever guitar you choose, it will be amongst the top guitars available in the maket place today.
