Solid Bodied Electrics With Acoustic Capability

LGX
LGX

Our top luthiers raid the wood supply and come out with the very best Mahogany, Figured Maple and Rosewood. The incredible work that these guys do with the wood alone would make this our best solid body ever, but then we add the most versatile electronics package ever conceived for an electric guitar. Easily switching between electric and acoustic guitar sounds on the same instrument was just a dream a few years ago. Now the LGX makes that dream into a reality. In other words, two guitars in one. The electric guitar sounds come from a pair of Godin Tetrad Combo pickups or two Seymour Duncan Humbuckers. The acoustic sound is produced using transducer saddles with an on board preamp/EQ designed by L.R. Baggs. The LGX comes equipped with two output jacks, one for the acoustic sounds and a separate jack for the magnetic pickup (electric) output. Note; the bridge output (acoustic) also doubles as a mix out combining both the guitars voices for those times when a good old, guitar-cord-amp setup is appropriate. Otherwise, the LGX truly shines when the acoustic output is run separately into a full range system such as a P.A., dedicated acoustic guitar amp, or recording mixer and the electric output is run separately into an electric guitar amp.

LGXIII - ‘2 Voice’

Ever since the LGX made its debut a few years ago, we have been getting requests for an LGX with ‘single coil sounds’ and a trem. Sounds simple enough, except for the infinite pickup choices available for a project like this. The process lasted a long time. But when you dial up the various combinations of the three Seymour DuncanTM Duckbuckers, we think that you will agree that it was worth the wait. That’s just the beginning of the LGXIII story. The LGXIII features the L.R. BaggsTM X-Bridge, which, along with the custom on-board preamp provides the best ‘acoustic sound’ from a solid body in the business. Having all of these sounds together in a single instrument beautifully sets the stage for a whole new guitar playing experience.

The LGXIII marries state-of-the-art electronics to the best materials, handcrafted to our exacting specifications. The Honduras Mahogany neck comes with a Rosewood fingerboard and features a 25½" scale, medium jumbo frets, a 16" fingerboard radius and a satin lacquer finish. Precision neck-fits are crucial to a guitars’ performance and the LGXIII conforms to Godin’s industry leading standards for precise neck attachments. The Silver Leaf Maple body is covered with a Hard Maple top.

Important facts about how we produce our product Guides

Specialists in each department vet new products

By clicking on acoustic, electric or bass you can learn a little more about the individals who select the products we recommend as well as information on the products themselves. As standard monthly procedure, these specialists meet up with the manufacturers and learn more about latest releases and whether these products offer our customers anything "new". Not only does this guarantee the products you see are worthy of our recommendation but also reflective of the very latest developments.

Recommendations are based on quality & value - not marketing hype!

Regent Guitars prides iteself on its desire to highlight quality products and not to merely rely on the marketing budgets of high profile brands to power our sales & recommendations. If we recommend it, you have total peace of mind that the product has genuine attributes that make it a market leader.

Guitars we recommend don't just look and sound good - they have also passed our stingent quality control testing

Regulars to Regent Guitars will know that guitars can look great but what is most important is that they adhere to strict laws of geometry! If a guitars geometry is out - you can be asured it will not play correctly, impairing the tonality and playability of the instrument. Peter Allen - head technician and former quality control manager of Patrick Eggle guitars checks all our guitars and we will not recommend an instrument until Peter has given it the all clear.

Ask the forumites!

Remember - If you are still unsure, please feel free to discuss our recommendations with the hundreds of "forumites" who discuss guitar issues every day, here at the Regent Guitars forum. In other words, don't just take our word for it - the last thing we want you to do is purchase an instrument that doesn't inspire you to play!

Hopefully, these pages will give you 100% peace of mind that whichever guitar you choose, it will be amongst the top guitars available in the maket place today.
