SansAmp Bass Driver

SansAmp Bass Driver DI gives you the warmth, presence and punch of a miked-up bass tube amp system in a conveniently portable direct box/pedal format. SansAmp Bass Driver DI can be used as a pre-amp or stomp box with your existing stage rig. You can drive a power amp and speaker cabinets. Or go direct into the mixer of a recorder or P.A. You can also plug into a power amp or conventional bass amp and a P.A. system simultaneously.

The controls offer a broad range of traditional bass amp sounds, including such meaty styles as Bassman® and SVT®, as well as raunchy, crunchy overdriven sounds that would typically require a multitude of effects units.

PRESENCE controls the amount of definition and upper harmonic content.

DRIVE adjusts the overall gain structure and overdrive.

LEVEL regulates the XLR and effected 1/4" output levels.

BLEND allows you to mix the direct bass signal with SansAmp Tube Amplifier Emulation circuitry (which is particularly useful for basses equipped with piezo pickups).

BASS & TREBLE are active EQ controls, specifically tuned for bass guitar, that cut or boost +/- 12dB.

For studio and live applications, SansAmp Bass Driver DI is engineered with three outputs: an effected XLR, and effected 1/4", and a parallel, uneffected 1/4". The footswitch activates the Tube Amplifier Emulation circuitry. Disengaging the circuitry enables you to use SansAmp Bass Driver DI as a standard active transparent direct box.

Sample style settings include Bassman®, SVT®, King's X, Slap, Reggae, Crimson. Settings are also included for Chapman Stick and Acoustic guitar.

Phantom power operable, or uses optional DC power supply, Tech 21 Model #DC2, or 9V alkaline battery (not included).

Actual size: 4.5" x 3.5" x 1.5" / Weight 14 oz.

Killer Wail

A staple in the world of music since the 60s.

The wah wah effect was made popular by some of the most influential guitar players in the world. Nostalgia, however, tends to make us forget some of the shortcomings --excessive noise, tendency to be thin sounding with certain guitars or pickups, and unstable mechanical construction.

Merging the past and the present.

The Killer Wail overcomes the classic wah's faults while preserving the original circuit design. We've utilized superior quality switching in a beefed up, cast metal, chrome-plated housing held together with a solid bolt. And we've incorporated some new features to further enhance its performance:

Mode Selector Switch:

Provides a variety of curves for greater flexibility--for bass as well as guitar.

Humbucking Inductor:

Custom wound and potted inductor coil cancels noise and reduces microphonics while faithfully reproducing the saturation and harmonics of vintage wahs.

Bypass Switch:

There's an extra pole to remove the circuit load which can muddy and weaken the signal.

Killer sound.

The Killer Wail is considerably warmer and more "musical" than conventional wahs. Each of the three modes offers a wider, smoother, and more even sweep.

HIGH: Moves the wah filter to the high range of the guitar. Notes on the G, B, and E strings will be accentuated. This mode is perfect for leads or funky staccato chords.

EXTENDED: Tunes the wah to cover the entire range of the guitar. In this mode, the filter is not so "peaky" and is a good choice with clean guitars when you want a smooth and wide sweep. This mode also works well with distorted rhythm chords and riffs.

DEEP: Moves the filter down to accentuate the lower strings of the guitar. This setting is perfect for use with 7-string guitars and bass guitars.

Important facts about how we produce our product Guides

Specialists in each department vet new products

By clicking on acoustic, electric or bass you can learn a little more about the individals who select the products we recommend as well as information on the products themselves. As standard monthly procedure, these specialists meet up with the manufacturers and learn more about latest releases and whether these products offer our customers anything "new". Not only does this guarantee the products you see are worthy of our recommendation but also reflective of the very latest developments.

Recommendations are based on quality & value - not marketing hype!

Regent Guitars prides iteself on its desire to highlight quality products and not to merely rely on the marketing budgets of high profile brands to power our sales & recommendations. If we recommend it, you have total peace of mind that the product has genuine attributes that make it a market leader.

Guitars we recommend don't just look and sound good - they have also passed our stingent quality control testing

Regulars to Regent Guitars will know that guitars can look great but what is most important is that they adhere to strict laws of geometry! If a guitars geometry is out - you can be asured it will not play correctly, impairing the tonality and playability of the instrument. Peter Allen - head technician and former quality control manager of Patrick Eggle guitars checks all our guitars and we will not recommend an instrument until Peter has given it the all clear.

Ask the forumites!

Remember - If you are still unsure, please feel free to discuss our recommendations with the hundreds of "forumites" who discuss guitar issues every day, here at the Regent Guitars forum. In other words, don't just take our word for it - the last thing we want you to do is purchase an instrument that doesn't inspire you to play!

Hopefully, these pages will give you 100% peace of mind that whichever guitar you choose, it will be amongst the top guitars available in the maket place today.
