Acoustic Radiator 1

Output Power: 60W RMS 120W peak

Speaker Configuration: 1 X 8" drive + dual tweeter array

Output Impedance: 8 Ohms

For the acoustic musician on the move, the Ashdown Acoustic Radiator 1 combines a 60 Watt bridged power section, a scaled down preamplifier and the same 8", dual tweeter array driver in a compact, portable and beautifully designed cabinet. Despite the reduction in preamp facilities necessitated by the smaller cabinet, the Acoustic Radiator 1 nonetheless has a switchable input for active and piezo pick-ups with a phase switch for the elimination of standing wave feedback, bass and treble controls with a shape switch providing instant access to an optimum acoustic guitar Eq setting, a switchable notch filter with a variable frequency control to tune out feedback, hall and plate Alesis digital reverbs with additional long / short settings and an overall output level control.

Rear panel facilities include a balanced XLR DI output for recording use, or for connection to a PA system, an FX loop and a line/link output.

Ashdown Acoustic Radiators are available in both cherry and black vinyl.

Acoustic Radiator 2

Output Power: 120W RMS 240W peak

Speaker Configuration: 1 x 8" with dual tweeter array + 8" ABR

Output Impedance: 8 OHms

The Ashdown Acoustic Radiator 2 features an advanced twin channel preamplifier with inputs for active and piezo pick-ups on Channel I and both jack and balanced XLR low impedance inputs on channel 2, facilitating the connection of a wide combination of pick-ups and instrument mic'ings. Phase switches assist in the elimination of standing wave feedback and a trademark Ashdown VU meter enables optimum input level matching. A dual triode vacuum tube under variable control introduces a wonderful sweetness and presence to the sound, while sophisticated tone shaping facilities are provided by rotary bass, mid and treble controls supplmented by four sliders giving 15dB of cut and boost at 160Hz, 320Hz, 1.2kHz and 3.5kHz. As acoustic instruments generally feed back at two frequencies: a low end howl and a mid-range whine, dual notch filters are employed, with individually variable frequencies and Qs, enabling the user to precisely remove feedback without affecting the overall balance of the sound. A digital reverb with 16 reverb and delay settings is footswitchable, and can be applied to either or both channels via front panel switches, with individual level controls for each channel. The overall output level control is mutable for tuner use during performance, either from the front panel or

a footswitch, and rear panel facilities include a balanced DI output with both pre and post Eq switching, a switchable FX loop, a line input with level control and a line/link output.

Another area of significant innovation is the speakers. The Acoustic Radiator 2 uses a powerful 8" driver with a dual, polymer diaphragm tweeter array, to deliver a wide frequency range and exceptional sound dispersion. Uniquely, an Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR) extends the low end energy, responding to your playing to introduce a full, rounded acoustic character to the amplified sound.

If we recommend it, you have total peace of mind that the product has genuine attributes that make it a market leader.

Guitars we recommend don't just look and sound good - they have also passed our stingent quality control testing

Regulars to Regent Guitars will know that guitars can look great but what is most important is that they adhere to strict laws of geometry! If a guitars geometry is out - you can be asured it will not play correctly, impairing the tonality and playability of the instrument. Peter Allen - head technician and former quality control manager of Patrick Eggle guitars checks all our guitars and we will not recommend an instrument until Peter has given it the all clear.

Ask the forumites!

Remember - If you are still unsure, please feel free to discuss our recommendations with the hundreds of "forumites" who discuss guitar issues every day, here at the Regent Guitars forum. In other words, don't just take our word for it - the last thing we want you to do is purchase an instrument that doesn't inspire you to play!

Hopefully, these pages will give you 100% peace of mind that whichever guitar you choose, it will be amongst the top guitars available in the maket place today.
