About Us

Regent Guitars is one of the UKs finest guitar specialists. This is largely down to the quality of staff that are behind the RG operation...

Managing Director - Richard cholerton. Former Guitar Institute Graduate & guitar tutor. I started Regent Guitars in 1995 and have never veered from my original promise to offer " service you wish you could find locally."

Finance Director - Teresa Cholerton. Teresa is responsible for all book keeping and management accounts.

Head Guitar Technician - Peter Allen - Former quality control manager of Patrick Eggle Guitars, responsible for the playability of guitars produced for players such as Toni Iommi and Brian May. Now responsible for setting up and overseeing quality control on all guitars that leave Regent Guitars. Every guitar sold includes a set up certificate highlighting the work carried out on your behalf.

Chris Huxley - Second guitar technician working under the strict guidance of Peter Allen.

Manager - Warren Szpeleck (Woz) - Former Manager of the bass centre & bass dept. manager of Sound Control, Birmingham. Undeniably one of the Industrys most respected characters who reputation goes before him.

Despatch Manager - Dan Rabot. Responsible for the co-ordination of all incoming and outgoing deliveries.

Stores Manager - David Cholerton. Primary role is to document, return and track credit notes relating to rejected guitars that fail our QC. We reject 10-15% of all incoming guitars from suppliers (we believe we have the highest quality control in the UK) which means we have to be extremely focused on the rejects that accumulate every week.

Customer Liasons Manager - John Ridgard. John ensures that our customers are kept informed during the order process and that communications are logged accordingly.

General Sales Assistance - Sam Poote.

When placing your order, simply select the carriage that you feel best describes your primary purchase.

Please note, only ONE charge will be applied, regardless of the quantities of each product type ordered. EG If you order 2 guitars, an effects pedal and an amp, you would be charged just £15.99 (the delivery cost of the main item)

Accessory Mail (UK Free Of Charge - Europe from £5)

Amplifier Mail (UK £11.75 - Europe £25)

GUITAR Deliveries (UK £15.99 inc. vat - Europe £25)

At Regent Guitars we believe that we are unique in terms of the quality of instrument we are able to offer our customers and the personal service our guitar buying customers receive. Our delivery charge goes a small way to recoup just part of the costs associated with such a service.

PRE delivery, every guitar undergoes over £50 worth of QC & setup procedures, backed up by a signed certificate and the offer to return your guitar 2 times within 12 months of ordering for a "checkup".

Approximately 1 in 12 guitars that undergo these procedures are returned to the supplier when they FAIL our quality control checks. You however, will only ever receive a first class instrument - every time. This quality control process is extremely costly in terms of resources used to A) Inspect the guitar B) Repackage and return rejects to supplier C) Chase suppliers for refunds! D) Keeping customer informed of progress.

Regent Guitars can proudly boast the HIGHEST level of quality control & best playing guitars in the industry (We have written documentation from our suppliers that can back up this statement!). 2 full time technicians perform the following on all guitars that leave our premises:-

Visual checks for marks & blemishes

Electronic checks on all electrical components

Full set up that ensures your guitar plays perfectly from the box (and in tune!)

Polishing removes any dust or fingerprints and also boosts the "wow factor" when you get it home!

A signed certificate shows all work carried out on your behalf

ALL GUITARS are packaged using an internal wrap, then an "inner carton" which is protected by a specially made and strengthened outer carton, (specifically designed to ensure our guitars are delivered safely).

Your guitar delivery can be tracked online once it has left Regent Guitars using an online tracking system - you will be emailed the details once we have processed your order.

Delivery times can vary depeding on stock availabity but we aim to hand finish and deliver "in stock" items within 7 days of your initial order. (The hand finishing and QC procedures are the only delay - however it is this that sets us apart from our competitors so we hope you can be patient!)

Delivery Schedule

UK NON Guitar items

Please allow up to 3 working days. Next day deliveries can be arranged by following up your order with a call to the appropriate department who will tell you whether we can get the goods out to you for the next day (dependant on stock availability).

UK GUITAR orders

As above plus around 48 hours for quality control and setup procedures. In the event of your guitar being "rejected" during this process, we will replace the insturment and contact you regarding the small delay. We will also prioritise your guitar to ensure minimum delays occur from that point.

European Delivery Times

As above PLUS...

2 Days - Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands

3 Days - Austria, Denmark, Switzerland*

3-4 Days -Czech Republic*, Italy, Slovakia, Spain

4-5 Days - Finland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden

All deliveries can be tracked online via our website at www.regentguitars.co.uk/tracking

* £25 customs fee will be added to your invoice before despatch

Back Orders

If we are not carrying your guitar in stock when the order is placed, we will order it immediately from the UK distributor.

If this occurs, we will inform you of this fact. We will also tell you how long this may add to your delivery time. This time can be 24 hours to months (in very extreme circumstances!). If the guitar is in stock at the supplier, we would expect it to take 2 days to arrive at our store. If however the guitar is out of stock at the supplier too (!) we will do our upmost to monitor events on your behalf. If you contact us at any point during this time we will happily chase the supplier and give you a progress report.

Due to our efficient systems, we can monitor progress of back ordered guitars very effectively where many businesses will lose your information or simply forget the guitar was ever ordered!

Tax Charges

For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 17.5% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free and you should click the exempt button to reduce VAT to zero .

Credit Card Security

We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet. All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Guarantee

All items are fully gauranteed for 12 months from purchase date. Our guitars are set up before sale and we will gaurantee the playability of the instrument for 12 months. All guitars sold can be checked over at 6 months and 12 months from sale - simply return the guitar and we will do the rest! (£5 fitting charge will made to fit new strings).

We do not accept responsibility in the case of guitars being mis-treated or adjusted by the owner of the instrument.

If you are not entirely satisfied with a product, please notify us, explaining the reason for the return. You may then return it to us if it is within 7 days of receipt.

This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Important facts about how we produce our product Guides

Specialists in each department vet new products

By clicking on acoustic, electric or bass you can learn a little more about the individals who select the products we recommend as well as information on the products themselves. As standard monthly procedure, these specialists meet up with the manufacturers and learn more about latest releases and whether these products offer our customers anything "new". Not only does this guarantee the products you see are worthy of our recommendation but also reflective of the very latest developments.

Recommendations are based on quality & value - not marketing hype!

Regent Guitars prides iteself on its desire to highlight quality products and not to merely rely on the marketing budgets of high profile brands to power our sales & recommendations. If we recommend it, you have total peace of mind that the product has genuine attributes that make it a market leader.

Guitars we recommend don't just look and sound good - they have also passed our stingent quality control testing

Regulars to Regent Guitars will know that guitars can look great but what is most important is that they adhere to strict laws of geometry! If a guitars geometry is out - you can be asured it will not play correctly, impairing the tonality and playability of the instrument. Peter Allen - head technician and former quality control manager of Patrick Eggle guitars checks all our guitars and we will not recommend an instrument until Peter has given it the all clear.

Ask the forumites!

Remember - If you are still unsure, please feel free to discuss our recommendations with the hundreds of "forumites" who discuss guitar issues every day, here at the Regent Guitars forum. In other words, don't just take our word for it - the last thing we want you to do is purchase an instrument that doesn't inspire you to play!

Hopefully, these pages will give you 100% peace of mind that whichever guitar you choose, it will be amongst the top guitars available in the maket place today.
