The Acoustic Guitars
That We Recommend (and why!)..
| Entry
Level - Lower Mid Range Vintage are a brand that specialize in producing entry level and mid price instruments and try very hard to not compromise the quality at the same time. Whilst they certainly do not offer perfect instruments every time (no manufacturer does!), we are extremely pleased with the general quality and "tidyness" of their guitars. To look at these instruments, you would expect to pay double the actual price we sell them for. Before you take a Vintage guitar from our premises, it is checked and adjusted by our excellent technician - Peter Allen. This is at no extra cost! |

Lower Mid Range - Higher Mid
Range Tanglewood guitars were the first acoustic range that I began selling 5 years ago when we first began. Over the years, many Manufacturers have tried to tempt us with their guitars but whilst Tanglewood keep producing such fantastic instruments I see no reason to add other brands which simply do not compare in terms of price V quality. Even though Tanglewood sell our best selling budget acoustic (TW 28 @ £129-00) I generally would recommend them to players who are looking for a quality instrument but who do not want to "blow the bank" unnecessarily! Some examples of Tanglewood guitars would be:- Earth 100. This guitar has a solid spruce top (natural satin)with Grover copy machine heads and is built to an extremely high standard. It really feels good in your hand and our set ups ensure perfect playability (as usual). We sell this model for £199-00 and I dare anyone to find be a better guitar for the money - anywhere. Earth 1000. This model is their "high range" at £329. For this you get a solid spruce top, gold Grover machine heads, abalone box inlays up the fretboard, abalone binding around body and soundhole and rosewood back and sides to finish. This guitar should be tried by all that are looking for a guitar that looks as good as it sounds. Again, I would suggest that at £329, this is the best money can buy at this price range and specification. The 2 models shown above are simply examples and Tanglewood offer a wide range of instruments many of which are best sellers for us. Please email us if you would like more information on these guitars |

| Mid
- Higher Range Simon & Patrick acoustic guitars range from £299 up to £1000. Needless to say, the quality of craftsmanship throughout the range is superb and it is staggering to think that you can buy a hand crafted instrument, made in Canada for under £300! If you buy an S & P for £300, you are not looking for fancy inlays, gold hardware and snazzy binding but are simply seeking tone (and you will find it by the bucket load!). The average age of the wood used on a Simon & Patrick acoustic is 800 years. This results in fantastic tone due to extremely tight grain (the tighter the grain, the greater the resonance). Yet again, I find myself wondering what other brands I can stock that can compare tonally at this price range - I am yet to find one. |

| "Top End" Taylor brings Regent Guitars into the "top end" acoustic market. Here are a couple of facts that I think you should be aware of... 1. I have known Peter Allen of GT services for 5 years and during this time I have always found it fascinating seeing the guitars that are brought in for "set ups". Of these guitars, there are countless stories of owners of Takamine, Martin & Ovation who have been so upset to realise that their beloved instrument now requires a further £55+ work doing to it to make it play nicely! During all of these years, Peter has only ever laid his hands on 3 Taylor guitars. This fact alone is staggering in view of the fact that he sets up approximately 30 guitars every week. This is a true testament to the time and effort that is put into the production of every Taylor produced. 2. I can genuinely say that I have NEVER met a dissatisfied Taylor guitar owner (if you are reading this and you have not been happy with your Taylor, please let me know!). I think that these 2 facts alone give me reason enough to place Taylor at the top of anyones acoustic guitar "wish list". If you would like to know more about Taylor guitars, please email me and I will be glad to help. |
